The worst part is your windows may still look great on the outside! Here are some tips to identify if your windows may be rotting:

• One of the most common identifiers of rot on your window is to have paint that is bubbled or peeling.
• When opening your windows you may notice that they stick or are no longer flush. Your windows may have swelled or warped do to the internal moisture.
• The wood around your window may feel soft or spongy to the touch.
• You may notice the rot without even looking at your windows. Some homeowners have been able to detect a mold or damp smell permeating from their windows.
• If you strip away the paint you may see darkening or discoloration to the wood.
